So, I was wondering if anyone has any relevant advice for me, as I join the 2020s at last. I don't know anyone else IRL who is as far down the chain as I am. My peers, many of whom own high-end studios, have been rolling with the upgrades for years, and don't really know what I should do anymore than I do- hell, they barely even remember what PT9 was like. And, honestly, it's bewildering as hell, I feel like I just woke up from a coma, or stepped out from 9 years in a nuclear bunker. For god's sake, at least give me offline bouncing and clip gain. ![]() Now, years and years later, I'm working on even more, even bigger, projects than ever, and working around PT9's limitations is getting infuriating all over again- I think, at last, I'm ready to move on. At first, I just stuck with it because I was too broke to upgrade, but it quickly became harder and harder for me to move away, as my workload grew and I became paranoid about losing session settings, or my huge collections of random RTAS plugins (some of which may or may not be cracked.genuinely can't even remember at this point) and generally became a bit stuck-in-my-ways. I'm a producer/mix engineer who has been operating professionally with Pro Tools 9 for almost a decade now. Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me making a new thread as my first post. r/MixClub /r/ListenToThis /r/Music /r/RadioReddit /r/LearnMusic /r/Reasoners /r/AudioPost /r/GameAudio /r/RateMyAudio /r/StudioPorn /r/SFXLibraries Pro Tools Operating System Compatibility ChartĬomputer Optimization and Troubleshooting Guides - Mac and Windows Pro Tools product line feature set comparison As the site guidelines and their notices tell you, be sure to read the sub rules before participating Feature/Sticky Post Schedule DayĬontent Creation Station - for Evals and Self-Promotion Whether it is yours or theirs, there are no allowable exceptions or appealable circumstances.
