![]() I feel there is more enjoyment to this than I am currently achieving and I certainly think my wife would appreciate some more spontaneity from me. I know that practising moves more intensely will give me a larger catalogue to choose from whilst dancing, but are there any specific practices anyone here might propose, that will help me to improve on my musicality? Making it easier for me to be more spontaneous, break out some jazz steps maybe and just loosen up a little in my dancing. Further, moving to the beat and just dancing without really thinking about each move excessively is hard. This count feels like it's been so hard wired into my mind, that switching between this and six count feels insanely difficult for me to comprehend. I feel one issue here might be that I learnt for a couple years within the same class, and was taught initially to speak out the eight steps as I did them.rock-step, triple step, rock-step, triple step. I've had follows comment on the difference. I know this to be the case, as occasionally dancing after a few drinks, I feel my mind start to loosen up and whether it looks brilliant or not, my inhibitions become less and my dancing becomes a lot more creative. Something that I definitely feel I struggle with is musicality and the ability therein to express some freedom and rhythm in my dancing. I've been swing dancing for around 4 years now, some periods more intensely than others, but certainly enough that I feel I should be more skillful than I am in some respects.
